Updated Legislative Alert –9PM House Passes $850 Billion in Military Spending

Late this afternoon, the Democratic controlled House of Representatives
passed a $850 National Defense Authorization Act. This was $37 billion more than requested by the White House. The final vote was 329-101. 

Democrats in the House voted in favor of this legislation by a margin of 180-39, signifying an increased willingness by even liberal members of Congress to embrace vastly increased  expenditures on the military.
