Rejoining the Iran Deal? Legislative update
Despite campaign promises to rejoin the Iran nuclear deal, the Biden Administration has failed to reverse Trump’s failed “maximum pressure” policy -imposing crushing sanctions on a nation of 83 million people amidst a global pandemic. In the intervening months, AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) has lobbied members of Congress to demand additional conditions before the United States rejoins the treaty. A joint letter by Senators Menendez and Graham has 43 signers and a counterpart in the House has 70 Democrats and 70 Republicans signers. This is a thinly disguised effort to prevent the United States from rejoining the treaty.

What you can do:
If your elected officials have signed the Menendez-Graham or House letters, call their offices and let them know that you strongly object to imposing new conditions on Iran and that you want the Biden Administration to rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
If your elected officials have not signed this letter, call their office and thank them for their continued support of the Iran nuclear deal, which is an important contribution to peace and stability in the region.
