A Nearby Hotel with Special Rates for This Conference We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Towson University Marriott Conference Hotel (10 W. Burke Ave., Towson, MD 21204) for the conference. Lodgings and Rates. Towson University formerly ran the hotel and still has a close connection to it. The conference rate ($99 plus tax for a one-bedroom suite, $119 plus tax for a two-bedroom suite) is a big discount from the normal rate, and the rooms are luxurious. As of March 21, only one-bedroom suites are available. They will be available until March 28. Location. The hotel is a ten-minute walk (0.4 mi.) from the College of Liberal Arts Building where the Saturday-Sunday sessions of the conference will be held. On Friday evening, when the keynote plenary will be held in the city of Baltimore (at St. John’s Methodist Church, 2640 St. Paul St.) we will arrange for a van to take conference-goers to from the hotel to the church and back. Reservations should be made by calling the Marriott chain’s 800 number (1-800-228-9290) and mentioning the “TU Historians Against War” block. Timing. Try to make your reservation before March 15 if at all possible. We are not yet certain that we will be able to expand the number of rooms in the “conference block” after that date. |
