By John J. Fitzgerald (2007)

The material for "Teaching the Vietnam War" comes from a number of presentations that I have done over the past ten years to different teacher groups. Most often I have done it at the Social Studies Conference in Boston. It has always gotten a favorable response. I usually do a run through in about 2 hours time.

There are a number of easily adapted lesson plans in it and it gathers in one place a lot of valuable information for teachers. (I have a tape recording of the music unit that is quite useful. I can make copies of it for teachers at a cost of cassette basis.) I encourage teachers to buy the original tape cassettes or CDs to make their own classroom copies. I am not trying to cheat the artists of their royalties.

The divisions of the piece were done to allow me to send it over the web.
