University of Mississippi

Four professors in the history department led a public discussion of the war, focused particularly on the aftermath, and how to work for peace now. We had about forty in the audience --students, faculty and local residents-- and a lively discussion afterwards. We're looking to do more events in the future, hopefully in conjunction with the student peace activist group. An announcement of the event follows below.

After the War, What Comes Next? Historical Perspectives on the Conflict in Iraq

A roundtable of Ole Miss historians on the historical context and possible consequences of the war, and the key issues to consider in the aftermath.
